Overview

You should have a review every 6 months. This is to assess progress and building on this review, a 12th month review will be submitted to the ARCP panel for assessment. At each review, the Educational Supervisor is asked to make recommendations to the ARCP panel as to your progress. This is to ensure that should there be issues, the Deanery can pick them up in a timely manner.

The MRCGP examination consists of three parts. The CSA and AKT are two parts of the examination. The third part is workplace based assessment (WPBA) and is assessed thru the e-portfolio. It is therefore of crucial importance that the e-portfolio be completed in the correct manner.

The purpose of this particular guide is to enable you to prepare for your review. Other aspects of the e-portfolio are covered in other guides on the site.

The success of the review depends on you submitting evidence to your Educational Supervisor (and therefore to the ARCP panel) showing progression thru WPBA. Please understand that without evidence, no assessment can be made and therefore you would be automatically referred to the ARCP panel as "Unsatisfactory Progress"

In Summary, The steps involved in making a Review fall into four steps:

  1. During each 6 months, ensure you have submitted the required Evidence (CBD, COT, mini-CEX,PSQ, MSF, CSR), have entered your educational learning into the Learning Log (thereby demonstrating coverage of the Curriculum and the 12 Competencies), ensure skills coverage in the Skills log, and that learning needs are identified and completed in your PDP
  2. Signed the Declarations
  3. Made an appointment at month 5 and 11 for your review with your Educational Supervisor (Year ST1 and ST2) and month 5 and 10 (ST3).
  4. Complete your own assessment of the 12 Competence's backed by evidence.
