Overview

I have produced a three page document to assist in carrying out a Review. The first page is a tick box list taking you through the proces. The second page deals with GPR issues and how to handle them. The third page gives a break down as to the various ARCP panel decisions. Review document.

For a successful review, GPR's need to think more about the evidence they submit and Educational Supervisors need to look for specific evidence on which to base their judgment for each of the domains and then provide specific recommendations for the GPR, encouraging progression before the next review.

Reviews are carried out twice every 12 months (month 6 and month 12). The 6 month review is to monitor progress and only highlight to the Program Director if there are significant concerns. The 12 month review is viewed by the ARCP panel.

The aim of WPBA is to ensure that the GPR is making a smooth progression throughout the whole of their training. Problems need to be identified early on to allow for early intervention.

The steps involved in making a Review fall into four steps:

  1. The ES needs to create a review date
  2. In order to activate the review, the GPR needs to sign their declarations and the ES needs to countersign the Educational Contract
  3. The GPR needs to ensure that their evidence (COT, CBD, PSQ, MSF, miniCEX) are to the minimum requirements and then to complete their assessment of the 12 competencies
  4. The ES carries out the review
