Introduction
Ideally, when in hospital, Clinical Supervisors oversee the day-to-day work of the GPR. Formative meetings at the beginning, middle and end of their placement should focus on the application of the specialty to General Practice. They will be the GPR’s initial point of contact in issues relating to the specific post.
At the end of the attachment, the Clinical Supervisors will need to sign off an end-of-placement clinical supervisors report recorded in the trainee’s e-portfolio.
The CSR report has now been extended to General Practice as well as Hospital posts and the GPR should aim to receive a CSR every 4 months both in hospital and in General Practice. This will then provide ongoing feedback.
This is especially important in the Nottingham scheme where there are placements in other practices than your Educational Supervisor. The Trainer in this practice should therefore be filling out a CSR report at the end of the 4 month attachment.
